Maintenance — Engine Removal
ENgine REmoval Brackets
Left:
M10 1.5 mm x 35mm Flanged Hex Head Screw; FRONT (15mm socket)
M10 1.5 mm x 30mm Flanged Hex Head Screw; FRONT (15mm socket)
Right:
???
Induction System
Remove induction tube; apply painter’s tape to opening
Remove induction tube heat shield;
5/32” Allan wrench
Oil System
Remove oil reservoir breather tube:
1/8" Allan Wrench
Apply painter’s tape to all 4 openings
Disconnect oil pressure sensor from oil filter
Disconnect two lines between the thermostat and the cooler at the thermostat:
12AN: wrench, 2x plugs, 2x caps
Disconnect line between oil filter and engine inlet at the oil filter
12AN: wrench, 1x plug, 1x cap
Zip tie line to engine block
Disconnect 2 lines between dry sump and reservoir:
16AN: wrench, 2x plugs, 2x caps
Disconnect 2 valve cover breather lines:
12AN: wrench, 2x plugs, 2x caps
Zip tie both lines to rear chassis X-frame
Intercooler system
Remove 2 lines between engine and swirl pot at swirl pot
10AN: wrench, 2x plugs, 2x caps
Remove line exiting swirl pot
??AN: wrench, 2x lugs, 2x caps
Zip tie line to bundle
Exhuast
Remove exhaust tips
Remove muffler assemblies
9/16” wrench and socket
Leave screws and nuts on frame
Remove cutouts
Remove cutout extension tubes
Remove X-Pipe
Transaxle
Disconnect shift servo air line; gold quick disconnect on top of transaxle
Remove heat shield;
??? hex drive bit
Install screws in transaxle
Place spacer between bottom of transaxle and billet chassis member
Disconnect 4 links at rear of transaxle; loosen jam nuts, take preload off of links, remove screws from transaxle
??? wrench
??? socket and wrench
Disconnect 4 links at front of transaxle
Remove 2 screws and spacers from top of transaxle; ??? hex drive bit socket
Install lift bracket into top of transaxle using bolts in bracket
Install the above removed screws and spacers into storage threads in bracket
Remove the CV heat shields; 3mm Allan wrench
Disconnect the clutch line at the bellhousing, 9/16” wrench, AN?: 1x cap, 1x plug
Bellhousing Links
Disconnect bolts in the lower link that are attached to the chassis. After removing the bolt shrink the link to its minimum size, puts the parts back on the rod end and zip tie
7mm socket, 8mm Allan wrench
Remove left and right top chassis brackets; reinstall bolts to reattach suspension
Intercoolers
Swirl pot
Disconnect swirl pot outlet; 10AN: wrench, 1x plug, 1x cap
Remove swirl pot’s mounting bolts to remove tension on hoses
Disconnect swirl pot inlet lines at swirl pot: 8AN: wrench, 2x plugs, 2x caps
Disconnect intercooler outlet at custom bracket mounted to left head
AN10: wrench, 1x plug, 1x cap
Transaxle Oil Cooler
Disconnect temperature sensor; located at output of thermostat
Disconnect oil lines:
8AN: wrench, 2x plugs, 2x caps.
Disconnect right oil line from dual hose clamp mounted to transaxle with 8mm; refasten seperator and other hose.
Fuel System
Depressurize system by connecting tube to Schrader valve
Disconnect 2 lines between Y-block and engine at the Y-block
6AN: wrench, 2x plugs, 2x caps
Electrical System
Disconnect engine harness
Disconnect 8 spark plug wires
Chassis
Remove both rear tires
Wheel nut tool
??? mm socket and impact gun
Remove rear hoop both (procedure?)
A/C Compressor
Remove the fittings from compressor so that the aluminum threads don’t have.
Seal both holes with the specific plate and screws.
We need to replace the button head screws because they are hard to remove ABE to order
Dry Sump Lines
12AN: wrench, 1x plug, 1x cap
16AN: wrench, 2x plugs, 2x plugs
Zip tie both hoses to the angled 2” x 2” chassis rail
X-Frame
Setup 4 blocks to support X-frame
Disconnect sway bar links???
???
Engine Mounts
Remove engine mount bolts???
Remove right front header shield
Cover headers with cloth
Attach left and right engine lift brackets
Rear Hoop Legs
Spin link to minimize preload
Remove bolt in lower arm; 3/4” socket with 2-1/2” extension, punch, hammer
Rocker
Jack the lower control arm just enough to minimize the preload on the push rod
Remove lower bolt in the rocker
Loose the rocker pivot bolt; 3/8” hex bit socket
Remove rear bolt in shock absorber; 1/4” hex bit socket,
Just crack the 3 flush screws in top of the bell crank; 5/32”hex bit socket
Remove the main rocker bolt
Remove the entire assembly
Tail Cross Frame
Put shimmed 2x4 under transaxle (or a jack)
Push bolts through rear billet; plastic hammer and alignment pin
Remove two screws connecting the top bracket to the transaxle making sure to keep the 2 aluminum spacers; 6 mm hex bit socket\
Lift the cross frame out
Air Jack Lines
Remove both right side lines and the left side line; AN???: wrench, 2x plug, 1x cap
Modify left engine lift bracket to clear coolant expansion tank
